Local Stage Stories

Write for us

We welcome thoughtful pitches about live performance and the local places, people and practices around it. Send proposals through the Contact page, with enough detail for us to understand the idea and its shape.

What we welcome

We are interested in clear, original writing about making a show, reading a performance choice, understanding a venue, audience customs and local stage traditions. A pitch might explain one focused idea, compare two approaches, or help readers notice something they can observe at a performance. We do not need a finished article to consider a proposal.

What makes a good pitch

Tell us the central question, why it suits Local Stage Stories and what a reader will take away. Name the likely category and give a brief outline of the points you would cover. Keep the idea specific enough to develop without relying on unsupported claims, access you do not have or a single example being treated as universal.

Before sending

Please include a short note about your relevant experience or perspective, but do not imply credentials you do not hold. Mention any personal, commercial or other connection that could affect how a proposed piece is read. Send all proposals through the Contact page; a pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication.
